Going Forward by Giving Back

We at SJL are aware of the responsibility that we have to our greater community. We gladly give of our time, money and talents to make a contribution to the world we live.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas: Billiard Ball event and We Care event. This organization provides guidance, role models and education in order to save children from lives of crime. The events are devoted to preparing today’s children to be tomorrow’s leaders.

Canterbury House is a faith-based Dallas organization, which is geared toward the development and nurture of young people.

Children’s Medical Center of Dallas: The Benefits Store. This store accepts donations, which are sold to raise funds for the Children’s Medical Center.

Cystic Fibrosis Foundation: Great Strides Run. This run raises money that goes to fund Cystic Fibrosis research.

Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center is an organization devoted to improving the lives of abused children in Dallas County, and providing national leadership on child abuse issues.

Dallas Mavericks Foundation: Furniture 4 Kids event. This organization stresses education, good health and skills in young people.

Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS (DIFFA): Wreath Design. The wreath is auctioned off at their annual holiday event, in order to raise money for this cause.

Highlander School is a local private school which is dedicated to the intellectual, emotional and spiritual development of children.

Jonathan’s Place provides care for children of abuse through a home-style shelter, in addition to a Foster and Adoptive Family Program.

Jubilee Park & Community Center is a catalyst for community renewal and enrichment to the Jubilee Park Neighborhood, a 62-block area in southeast Dallas. The majority of families here are working poor who are under served in terms of education and health resources.

North Texas Food Bank: CANstruction. This is a unique food charity that involves designing and building structures entirely from cans of food, which are then donated to the hungry.

Reconciliation Outreach Ministries: Home Exterior Renovations. Reconciliation Outreach Ministries, through the Apartment Association of Greater Dallas, is a faith-based Dallas organization dedicated to serving people with life-controlling problems.

The Family Place is the largest family violence service provider in the Dallas area, reaching out to victims and keeping women and children safe from family violence.

Trinity Strand Trail is a commuter and recreational trail which runs along the Trinity River, through Dallas’ Design District. This trail is a part of the redevelopment vision for the Trinity River corridor.
